Citation

1. The first time Bess cites a source, he uses the full citation with last name, title, page number, year published, and publisher. The second time he cites a source, he uses an abbreviated citation from the previous citation.

2. The word annotated means that he is summarizing his own thoughts and ideas into the citation. He is putting his own ideas and beliefs into each source that he is citing from his resources.

3. Yes, there are notes that are not mentioned directly and explicitly in the text. The rule that applies to these sources have a separate page number between each source. If he uses it differently or on a diffrent page then he used a new citation to cite the sources.

4. Bess cited the work of Milgram's book from primary sources that Milgram used in his own book.  Bess did not need to cite both of these source, but instead he only needed to cite Milgram's information and sources from the book. He also gives you an abundance of citing.

5. Bess uses both primary sources and secondary sources in his book. His work is original because he uses his own ideas and combines them with new informative information to create his own original work.
